White goods

The disposal of fridges and freezers are governed by the Ozone Depleting Substances Regulations. Fridges and freezers contain CFCs as a coolant - this needs to be removed and disposed of safely. The metal can also be taken for recycling too. Fridges and freezers can be accepted at the following Merseyside Household Waste Recycling Centres:

Huyton (Ellis Ashton Street)
Otterspool (Jericho Lane)
Ravenhead (Burtonhead Road)
Sefton Meadows(Sefton Lane)
Southport (Foul Lane)
South Sefton (Irlam Road)
Your local Council also provides a service for unwanted white goods, contact them to arrange a collection of bulky household waste.Some large electrical retailers will collect broken, unwanted white goods when delivering new items, but you should check before delivery. If your old appliance still works, someone else may want it.
